Pool care can be difficult on your own. If you use a pool care service there are still things that can be addressed in between maintenance visits from Vistancia Pool Care. Below you can find a few suggestions on what to do in between visits that will keep your pool sparkling. Check your pool filter Pool filters help removing dirt and debris from your pool. It is suggested that you clean your filter every time your pool is vacuumed. Pump Basket should be emptied Although Vistancia Pool Care will empty your skimmer basket when we come for scheduled maintenance there may be certain times of the year where there is more debris that will collect in your basket. You can help your professional by attending your baskets during leaf and monsoon seasons. Check your water level If your pool water level is too high it can effect the performance of your skimmer which will cause your pool to become dirty. If your pools water level becomes too low it can cause your pool pump to work overtime and can cause your pool pump to burn up. Shock pool After a large storm hits you may have to shock your pool in between visits from Vistancia Pool Care. If you have large pool party of 20 people or more you should shock your pool to keep your water safe. You may also call Vistancia Pool Care and we can make a special trip out. If you spot any problems with your pool water we can always make a special trip outside of your regular scheduled maintenance. Just give us a call! It is hot outside and your pool is starting to feel like bath water! Read a few tips to help cool your pool water. Water Features- Fountains and waterfalls can help lower the temperature in your pool by causing water evaporation which cools the water. Running the water feature during the night is most effective. Ice- Ice can cool your pools water but is not the most effective way to do so. It would take an excessive amount of ice to cool the pool water. We do not suggest this method. Shade your pool- Consider planting some pool friendly trees that have low litter around the pool area. You may also install an awning to shade the area. Run your pool filter at night- The air is cooler at night and will act as an imitation evaporative cooling system. Aerator- This is the easiest and most efficient way to cool your pool water off. Running the aerator at night is most effective. Pool Cooler- Although pool coolers can be expensive it can make a 10-15 degree difference in the temperature of your pool. Install misters near the pool- This will help reduce the temperature around the pool and will help the pool waters temperature drop. It is now the official monsoon season in Arizona which means our pools will need some extra care before and after the storm hits. Here are a few ways you can manage your pool during monsoon season. Store pool gear Pack away anything that can fly in high winds such as umbrellas, patio furniture and pool toys. This will help with any damage that these objects can cause to your home and your pool. Do not cover your pool Covering your pool during monsoon season can cause more harm than good. Your pool cover can become damaged by falling debris or flying materials. It will also become harder to retrieve anything off of the pool cover that may fall in the pool. Turn your pools power source off before the storm hits Running the pump with a clogged skimmer can damage the pump. Turn off the power until the storm has passed before turning it back on. Trim landscape If you have branches that are hanging over, it is a good time to trim them. Flying branches can be a major hazard to your pools surface among other things. After the storm
