It is now the official monsoon season in Arizona which means our pools will need some extra care before and after the storm hits. Here are a few ways you can manage your pool during monsoon season. Store pool gear Pack away anything that can fly in high winds such as umbrellas, patio furniture and pool toys. This will help with any damage that these objects can cause to your home and your pool. Do not cover your pool Covering your pool during monsoon season can cause more harm than good. Your pool cover can become damaged by falling debris or flying materials. It will also become harder to retrieve anything off of the pool cover that may fall in the pool. Turn your pools power source off before the storm hits Running the pump with a clogged skimmer can damage the pump. Turn off the power until the storm has passed before turning it back on. Trim landscape If you have branches that are hanging over, it is a good time to trim them. Flying branches can be a major hazard to your pools surface among other things. After the storm
