Pool care can be difficult on your own. If you use a pool care service there are still things that can be addressed in between maintenance visits from Vistancia Pool Care. Below you can find a few suggestions on what to do in between visits that will keep your pool sparkling.
Check your pool filter
Pool filters help removing dirt and debris from your pool. It is suggested that you clean your filter every time your pool is vacuumed.
Pump Basket should be emptied
Although Vistancia Pool Care will empty your skimmer basket when we come for scheduled maintenance there may be certain times of the year where there is more debris that will collect in your basket. You can help your professional by attending your baskets during leaf and monsoon seasons.
Check your water level
If your pool water level is too high it can effect the performance of your skimmer which will cause your pool to become dirty. If your pools water level becomes too low it can cause your pool pump to work overtime and can cause your pool pump to burn up.
After a large storm hits you may have to shock your pool in between visits from Vistancia Pool Care. If you have large pool party of 20 people or more you should shock your pool to keep your water safe. You may also call Vistancia Pool Care and we can make a special trip out.
If you spot any problems with your pool water we can always make a special trip outside of your regular scheduled maintenance. Just give us a call!
It is hot outside and your pool is starting to feel like bath water! Read a few tips to help cool your pool water.
Water Features- Fountains and waterfalls can help lower the temperature in your pool by causing water evaporation which cools the water. Running the water feature during the night is most effective.
Ice- Ice can cool your pools water but is not the most effective way to do so. It would take an excessive amount of ice to cool the pool water. We do not suggest this method.
Shade your pool- Consider planting some pool friendly trees that have low litter around the pool area. You may also install an awning to shade the area.
Run your pool filter at night- The air is cooler at night and will act as an imitation evaporative cooling system.
Aerator- This is the easiest and most efficient way to cool your pool water off. Running the aerator at night is most effective.
Pool Cooler- Although pool coolers can be expensive it can make a 10-15 degree difference in the temperature of your pool.
Install misters near the pool- This will help reduce the temperature around the pool and will help the pool waters temperature drop.
It is now the official monsoon season in Arizona which means our pools will need some extra care before and after the storm hits. Here are a few ways you can manage your pool during monsoon season.
Store pool gear
Pack away anything that can fly in high winds such as umbrellas, patio furniture and pool toys. This will help with any damage that these objects can cause to your home and your pool.
Do not cover your pool
Covering your pool during monsoon season can cause more harm than good. Your pool cover can become damaged by falling debris or flying materials. It will also become harder to retrieve anything off of the pool cover that may fall in the pool.
Turn your pools power source off before the storm hits
Running the pump with a clogged skimmer can damage the pump. Turn off the power until the storm has passed before turning it back on.
If you have branches that are hanging over, it is a good time to trim them. Flying branches can be a major hazard to your pools surface among other things.
After the storm
Happy 4th of July

Understanding the basics in pool care can get help you between visits from Vistancia Pool Care. So, where do we start? There are about 5 categories when it comes to pool care:
1. Circulation- Healthy water is kept by moving the water around in your pool. This is done by the pump that circulates water through the filtration system and back into the pool.
2. Filtration- Vistancia pool care helps follow regular filter maintenance to help remove dirt and debri from your swimming pool.
3. Cleaning- Your pools walls, floors and steps should be cleaned at least once a week. The skimmer baskets and pump should also be cleaned frequently.
4. Water Testing- Chemical health should be tested at least once a week, when it is hot outside the chemicals should be tested more frequently.
5. Water Balancing & Sanitation- to keep your pool sanitized and clear of viruses and bacteria you will need the appropriate chemicals to balance your pool water. Vistancia Pool Care can help test the water when we come to maintenance your pool.
Traveling? As pools can turn green quickly in AZ heat it is important to have your pool professionally managed during your vacation
If you are planning a vacation this summer that lasts longer than a few days we suggest that your pool be professionally managed. Here are a few reasons to have your pool serviced while you are gone.
While the heat rises during the summers in Arizona it is hard to keep the water from turning green. Algae grows more rapidly with higher temperatures. Lack of chemicals and the heat can surprise you and turn your water green overnight. Your pool will need cleaning at least once while you are gone. Besides the algae pools can also become damaged from debris if not properly cleared.
Come home to a clean sparkling pool with pH levels that are correct. Pool service professionals are better than a neighbor that is not educated on how to take care of a pool during summer months.
Arizona is notorious for their monsoons in the summer. If you have not prepared your pool area, your pool can become damaged. If furniture is not stored properly it can scrape or even chip your pools surface. Storms can also cause electrical surges that can cause devastation your pool's electronic devices. Vistancia pool care will ensure that your pool is kept safe while you are away.
